We have loads of ideas on how we want OneSub to work to give you a balanced diet of the news but a long way to go to get there! So we thought we would release our current roadmap so you can see where we are and what we are currently planning.

Email Notifications

In the email notifications, we would like to add a link to a weekly digest of your personalised news consumption. We are currently having a think 🧐 about what you might want to see and here are a few of our ideas: 

• Which publications you’ve been reading
• Topics you have read the most about this week 
• Popular topics that everyone has been reading about this week
• A map showing where you have read stories from
• Articles you missed out on (a few articles which were read a lot by others but you didn’t)

Personalised Dashboard

This is linked to above and the weekly email will contain a link to your personalised dashboard, showing you which publications you have been reading among other ideas (see above). Hopefully, this will give you an insight into your media diet, where you are reading articles from, what topics you are mostly reading, and if there may be any gaps in your knowledge.

Voluntary Subscriptions

We are hoping to set up a subscription which will be on a voluntary basis at the moment. We want to make sure we have the processes in place and ready to go when we need them for taking payments.

Testing Geographical locations: USA Edition

With the roll-out of our new look OneSub we have created categories which are intrinsically linked to creating different editions of OneSub. For example, if you live in France or Canada, you won’t be wanting all of the UK headlines to appear at the top of your page, so we need to make sure that we can edit the content you get depending on where in the world you are reading. Or where you signed up in the case of catching up with the news whilst on holiday in France despite living in New York, you will still want your USA edition despite being on holiday.

Creating a Test site

We will be creating a test site for ourselves and any Beta Champions 🤩 to log onto so we can roll out any new features for testing to this site first before going straight to live. Let us know if you want to become a Beta Champion 🤩 and have access to any new features and we will add you 🙌

Timelines & Depth to stories

We want to be able to provide in-depth reading for a story, not just fleeting headlines that are here today and taken over by a bigger story tomorrow. We want to be able to suggest an article to you because you read a previous article on the same story and its been a few days, or weeks and this follow up article has come out that you might be interested in.
