France to withdraw troops from Burkina Faso
France has agreed to withdraw its military forces from Burkina Faso within a month, following a formal request from the country's military government. The move comes after Burkina Faso's military junta asked France to recall its ambassador earlier this month. About 400 French special forces members were based in the country as part of a broader military deployment aimed at fighting extremists in Africa's Sahel region.
