UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris to address disagreements over migration and to strengthen military relations.
The two leaders agreed to combat Russian aggression by working jointly on "next-generation" long-range missiles and coordinating on supplying weapons to Ukraine and training Ukrainian marines.
The UK will also host a meeting of the European Political Community, a club created by Macron to promote closer ties outside of the EU. The talks will also cover economics, the Indo-Pacific region, China, and nuclear energy.
The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, met in Paris to improve the military ties and address disagreements over migration.
The meeting was the first summit of Europe's two main military nations as well as nuclear powers in five years.
Sunak hopes to build on the improved relationship by negotiating a deal with the EU that would allow it to return migrants arriving on British shores.
