Jaswant Singh Chail, a 21-year-old former supermarket worker from Hampshire, pleaded guilty to charges related to his attempt to harm Queen Elizabeth II with a loaded crossbow at Windsor Castle on Christmas Day 2021.
He was the first person to be convicted of treason in the UK since 1981.
Chail admitted to making threats to kill and possessing an offensive weapon, while also admitting to a charge under the Treason Act of intending to "injure the person of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, or to alarm her Majesty.
" The defendant had spent months planning the attack, prosecutors said.
The sentencing is due to take place after psychiatric reports are assessed by the judge.

In his subsequent court appearance by video-link, Chail pleaded guilty to charges of intending to alarm or harm the Queen under the Treason Act, threatening to kill, and carrying an offensive weapon.
Additionally, he had allegedly attempted to join the Ministry of Defence to get near the Royal Family prior to the attack.
Chail is currently detained at Broadmoor Hospital, and his sentencing will take place after psychiatric reports are considered.
