Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, announced that the Russian army is advancing "successfully" near the Ukrainian towns of Vuhledar and Bakhmut.
He further accused the US and its allies of prolonging the conflict and attempting to draw NATO countries into it.
Shoigu claimed that Ukraine has lost over 6,500 soldiers, 26 aircraft, seven helicopters and 341 tanks in the past month.
The battle for Bakhmut has become the longest and bloodiest since Russia invaded Ukraine last February.
The Russian army, according to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, has been able to make advances towards Bakhmut and Vuhledar in the eastern region of Donetsk.
Shoigu stated "the U.S. and its allies are trying to drag out the conflict as long as possible," in his accusation against the American and European allies of passing military aid to Kyiv.
He added that such actions could cause the conflict to escalate unpredictably and draw NATO countries into it.
Shoigu further claimed that Ukraine had witnessed the loss of scores of soldiers and assets.
He believes that the conflict has stretched out from inaction from Kyiv.
Meanwhile, Russia's forces were making efforts to win control over Bakhmut, one of the longest and bloodiest battles since Russia's previous invasion in the region.
The statements from Russian Defense Ministers' spokesperson starkly contrasted with the reports stating that pro-Russian separatists continue to rely on essential supplies transported by Russia to maintain their positions.
While Shoigu declares a successful operation, Ukrainian armed forces claim to have been fighting off Russian military incursions and infiltrations.
The fact that a large scale war is going on in the area is not up for debate.
However, both sides continue to differ in their stance and explanations of events.
