London boroughs introduce charges to reduce diesel cars
Lambeth Council has tripled diesel surcharge parking fees and increased the cost of a year-long permit to £140 for diesel cars, with the aim of becoming diesel-free in the near future. The move has been welcomed by campaigners, who hope other London boroughs will follow suit. Meanwhile, several Labour-led London councils have been accused of pursuing an anti-motorcycle agenda after putting forward charges for vehicles parking within their boroughs.
