China and Russia call for responsible dialogue to resolve Ukraine crisis
Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow to discuss the Ukraine crisis with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders signed an agreement to bring relations into a new era of cooperation and called for responsible dialogue to resolve the Ukraine crisis. Putin welcomed China's 12-point peace plan for Ukraine, which he said could provide the basis for a settlement. However, the West and Ukraine were not yet ready for it. The two countries were concerned by NATO's growing presence in Asia and accused Washington of undermining global security. They also agreed to regularly conduct joint military exercises and ramp up cooperation between their armed forces.
